Madhunt Designs Silicone Teething Jewellery Review and Giveaway!!!

Disclosure: I received a 9 bead Silicone  Necklace for the purpose of this review from Madhunt Designs. All opinions are my own and are based on my experience with the product. This is not a paid/sponsored post.

I'm so excited to do this review and Silicone Teething Necklace giveaway! Madhunt Designs has kindly sent Looking For Mama Me one of their gorgeous Rainbow Fun 9 bead silicone necklaces to try out, plus they've offered another beautiful Mocha Peach necklace as a giveaway for my fantastic readers. Keep reading to find out details!

So anyone who knows me will tell you I have an obsession with everything baby related. But luckily, this one isn't just for baby! I have recently discovered MadHunt Designs' silicone jewellery - gorgeous silicone jewellery that doubles as teethers for bub. They are the perfect accessory for mums with teething little people who can chew on the safe and pretty silicone beads to sooth those itchy aching gums. If you have older girls, they will also love the bright colourful designs, I can imagine once my bub is past the teething age she'll probably steal it and wear it herself (she is her mother's daughter after all!)

Madhunt Designs have a massive range of silicone jewellery, from necklaces to bangles to teething toys and jewellery just for kids. Made from food-grade safe silicone, the beads are completely fine for bubs to chew on plus they are non-toxic and BPA free (nasty stuff thats put in plastic) and waterproof. In fact all the silicone jewellery in the Madhunt Designs inventory are completely non toxic!  The cords are nice and thick with a little clip that comes undone when pulled by bub to save you from being strangled, although I found mine was a little tough at first and didn't undo straight away so I got a bit of a sore neck a few times. It did loosen up after a couple of days though.

As far as style goes, I love the colours of this pretty 9 bead Rainbow Fun necklace (pictured above), I'm not sure if the designers somehow had a window into my closet but it seems that there's a bead on the necklace to match pretty much all my clothes. So I wore it just about every day last week.

Functionality is just as important as style. To be honest, the necklace arrived just in time for my little 8 month old koala to cut her top two teeth! Lets just say that wasn't a fun week but wearing the necklace gave her a little distraction to chew on while we were out. Such a welcome relief to not have her grizzle for 10 minutes while she chewed and sucked away on the necklace! Having tested these necklaces out for a couple of weeks, it has been such a welcome distraction for my little one. When she's sitting on my hip she can twirl it in her fingers instead of pulling at my hair. I still breastfeed my little koala, and she's a real pincher and face slapper. I've been wearing it while I feed her and I think it's cutting down on my breastfeeding-related injuries! Now she twirls and tugs the necklace rather than a chunk of my hair!

Practicality is also important. The Madhunt Designs' website says you can wash the necklace easily by hand or even in a washing machine, I thought I better test this out and chucked the necklace in a delicates bag in the wash. Came out the same way it went in, I suppose it ticks that box then. At $30 for the 9 bead silicone necklaces, they aren't too pricey either which is always a good thing for a stay at home mum!

P.s. - I think the little Elephant teething toy is pretty darn cute!

  1. Apart from really wanting a necklace so that little miss 8 months stops grabbing/pulling/scratching my face/clothes/hair, I'm really interested in trying out the bracelets. I love bracelets and one that she can safely chew on would be great. I will definitely be making a purchase! Thank you for your great review!

  2. Entry in haiku :)

A teething babe on my lap,
    Pulling hair, facial slaps,
    please! Gum this necklace instead!

  3. I love the 9 Bead Necklace - Lavender. Love the colour combination, its fashionable and definitely perfect for my little one who will be teething in a few months time, thanks for the opportunity.
    Ying Ying TAN -

  4. Great product. I love necklaces but had to stop wearing them because of the risk of him choking and me being throttled. This seems like a great solution to both problems.

  5. All Madhunt Designs are beautiful but I especially love the Small Bead Necklace - Purple as it's in my favourite colour, lightweight, easy to wear and keeps baby occupied instead of pulling at my hair or earrings!

  6. I love the keyring, it's lovely and colourful and as someone who collects weird and wonderful key rings, this really is right up my ally. It's the perfect addition!

  7. I love love love teething necklaces! I like feeling stylish without worrying about bubs chewing the heck out of my jewellery.

  8. They look yummy enough for me to chew on. I would love the 9 bead forest sun necklace... looks like all my yummy favourite fruits.

  9. I love the necklace that you have. With all its versatile colours it will go with everything. Practical and fashionable!

  10. The Lucy necklace is really stylish. I'd wear it with or without a baby!

  11. I would love to win a teething necklace! My big Mr 10 months is a strong little fella and loves to pull my hair and chew on any necklace I attempt to wear which resulted in one of my favourite chains being broken. One of these teething necklaces would be amazing and he would love to play with it so much! I also really love the cute little teething toys, I just wish my bub would use them more often rather than my shirts :(

  12. I love these, although the ones I've got are single colour so I have coordinate!! Lol Rainbow ones are a great idea, fabulous review too btw

  13. 9 months ago our little man was born, he spent 9 months inside growing into the perfect munchkin, 9 beads on the necklace to signify the time he has been with us on the outside andthe inside!

  14. Teething necklace tip: For those bubs with separation anxiety, get yourself a Madhunt teething necklace and wear it all the time so that bubs associates it with you.
Then before handing Bub to other person they may be unfamiliar with, put the necklace on that person so your baby has a sense of familiarity and a playful distraction - Stephanie P.
